Time scale : yugas, manvantaras …


Satya yuga = 4,800 celestial years / 1,728,000 human years

Tretā yuga = 3,600 celestial years / 1,296,000 human years

Dvāpara yuga = 2,400 celestial years / 864,000 human years

Kali yuga = 1,200 celestial years / 432,000 human years

/ Note : Kali yuga began on Friday, february 18. 3102. BC /

1 divya yuga = 4 yugas combined together ( Satya, Tretā, Dvāpara and Kali )

1 Manvantara = a lifetime of one manu ( consists of 71 X 4 yugas )

1 day of Brahmā =14 Manvantaras

1 month of Brahmā = 30 days of Brahmā

1 year of Brahmā = 12 months of Brahmā

A lifetime of Brahmā = 100 years of Brahmā = 1 Kalpa

There are 3 kinds of Kalpas mentioned in Brahma Vaivarta Purāṇa :

1. Brahma Kalpa

2. Varāha Kalpa

3. Pādma Kalpa
